ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION

The Community Security Service (CSS) is the leading organization for training American Jewish volunteers to protect their communities. At CSS, our mission is simple: Protect Jewish Life and Jewish Way of Life. Through our tiered programs and training, volunteers learn to identify threats and proactively safeguard their synagogues, institutions and events. We have trained over 4500 volunteers across denominations and regions in the United States on security awareness and operational security.



VACANCIES:




TECHNOLOGY MANAGER

Title: Technology Manager

Reports to: Deputy National Director

Location: New York Metro / Flexible

CSS is offering an exciting opportunity to support the organization’s national IT and digital operations. We seek a dynamic, ambitious, and creative manager to translate CSS’s procedural and operational needs into technological realities.

GENERAL DUTIES:

  • Manage and support all areas of CSS technical infrastructure.
  • Identify and implement new technology and tools to support national CSS operations.
  • Troubleshoot, track, and anticipate technical issues that arise.
  • Interface with vendors and identify new ones.
  • Automate CSS processes.
  • Train staff members and volunteers on new technologies and processes.
  • Support CSS national headquarters in its overall mission. 
  • Perform other duties as required. 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Demonstrated Experience in IT or related digital field.
  • Experience with HubSpot CRM (including integration, and marketing & service hubs).
  • Experience with Google tools (e.g. analytics, google admin console).
  • Experience with Zapier or similar integration tools.
  • Knowledge of WordPress and web design (preferred).
  • Knowledge of cyber- and data security (preferred).
  • Excellent communication and program management skills.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills with a persistence to see issues resolved.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.

INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

Title: Security Intern
Location: Flexible

The CSS Internship Program provides professional development training for college and graduate school students seeking real-life experience working in the non-profit sector.


GENERAL DUTIES:

The Security Intern will work directly with National Staff on projects, including:

  • Drafting internal and external communication products.
  • Conducting research and analysis on hate crimes and security-related topics.
  • Assisting in the carrying out of various CSS programs and initiatives.
  • Conducting outreach to CSS partners, including law enforcement.
  • Assisting in the updating of databases and casefile management.
  • Providing support for special events and staff or volunteer meetings.


SKILLS:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Detail oriented with exceptional organizational abilities.
  • Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to the CSS mission.


EDUCATION:

  • Juniors and seniors, graduate students, and recent graduates are welcome to apply. Preferred fields of public policy, international security, nonprofit management, communications, political science, Jewish studies, or related fields.
